Character Coalition of Elk Grove Community Projects

The Community Character Coalition supports the following annual events that involve the community and demonstrates Character.

• Youth Recognition

The Community Character Coalition (CCC) of Elk Grove is once again sponsoring a youth recognition night in coordination with the Mayor and Village Trustees of Elk Grove Village.

We invite youth service group(s) to participate in the celebration of the wonderful work they do for our community and the world. We encourage all youth service groups to attend this event to promote youth volunteerism in our community.

The youth will be honored at Elk Grove Village Hall during the May 13, 2014 board meeting. Groups will share their activities with displays and booths set up at Village Hall for the hour preceding the Board meeting.

Groups or individuals need to complete a registration form  and return it to Betsy Boswell at the School District 59 Administration Center by April 25, 2014.  An email will be sent confirming participation with instructions and details needed for the actual event.  Please contact Betsy with questions at 847-593-4404, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. • Training Elk Grove Park District Junior Leaders

Members of the Community Character Coalition's Education Team spent three days  in June with Elk Grove Park District Junior Leaders.  Coalition members presented Character Counts! training and Six Pillar lesson ideas to the junior leaders.  We worked with the junior leaders to help them develop lessons of their own to present to the 100s of children in the Park District Day Camps. The CCC members were impressed with the RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY displayed by the junior leaders. Passing on the lessons of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship was truly rewarding for the CCC members, knowing they were assisting in the training of tomorrow's community leaders!
