Monthly Member Meetings - First Tuesday of each month 

Members and guests of the CCC meet on the first Tuesday of each month from 7:30 am - 8:30 am at the Al Hattendorf Center.  Meetings include the planning and coordination of volunteer events, community sponsorships, scholarships, grants and more.

• Packages for Patriots
• The Community Character Coalition assists Packages for Patriots at the

Church of the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church two times a year in packing
goods and treats for service men and women serving our country
throughout the world. We also collect items for these packages every
month at our general meeting. Packages for Patriots sends nearly 30
packages every month.

March 2026

• District 54 Kindergarten Registration Fair
• CCC will have a table to provide bookmarks and information about our

organization to families attending the event.

April 2026

• CCC Meeting - Tuesday, April 7th

May 2026

• Chalk it up to Character Week
• This week long event invites all schools, businesses, governmental

organizations, churches, scouts, and all residents to participate in
designing and displaying positives pictures and messages using
sidewalk chalk. This week we create a positive environment in our
Village by chalking it up with character!

• Pack the Pantry
• Community-wide collection of food items that will be donated to the

Township Food Pantry

• CCC Fallen Soldier Scholarship Awards

June 2026

• Backpack Drive - month long
  • Community-wide collection of new backpacks to be distributed to students in D59 and EG D54 schools (D54 distribution at individual sites)

July 2026

• Play, Picnic, Party - July 12th
  • CCC participates by hosting an activity table at this event for village youth.

August 2026

• Back-to-school backpack distribution - August 1st and 2nd
• Bark in the Park - August 30th

September 2026

• Elk Grove Village Hometown Parade / Oktoberfest - September 19th
• District 59 Fall Festival - September 19th
  • Community organizations come together with an activity for families to
    play. Immunizations will be available.

October 2026

• Halloween Fest - October 30th
  • CCC hosts a game station and provides prizes.
• Make a Difference Day - October 30th
  • CCC collects toiletries at Elk Grove Jewel forFood Pantry.
• Adopt-a-Senior
  • CCC members purchase gifts for seniorsin two separate senior living facilities. Suggested list is given in October with
    packing of the gifts at our November meeting.

November 2026

• Toys for Tots collection begins
• Packages for Patriots

December 2026

• Toys for Tots Marine pick-up
• Adopt-a-Senior gift distribution
• Wreaths Across America
  • This is a patriotic event to remember and honor our fallen heroes and teach our children to do the same. The event is in partnership with Elk Grove Village, The Daughters of the American Revolution and Wreaths Across America and is held at the Elk Grove Cemetery.
